Outermost joins European projects as the partner that connects them to the innovation ecosystem of the Canary Islands, one of Europe’s outermost regions. We usually contribute in three ways.
We bring founders, students, universities, support organisations and public bodies in the Canary Islands into your project.
We design and deliver workshops, bootcamps and training programmes, in person or online.
We take on communication and dissemination work packages and turn project results into material people actually read.
We can also help shape the proposal itself. Our team has written, evaluated and managed EU-funded projects for over a decade.

Workshops, bootcamps, hackathons and mentoring programmes that help founders, students, teams and support organisations navigate Europe's funding and growth opportunities, in person or online.
Studies, methodologies and practical guides on how innovation grows outside the usual hubs, shared openly so others can use them.
About us
Outermost is a non-profit innovation association and think tank based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. We work with students, entrepreneurs, startups, SMEs, support organisations and public bodies to open up Europe’s training, funding and networks to the Canary Islands.
We have one foot in each world. We’ve spent our careers inside Europe’s funding and innovation programmes, and we live and work in the periphery. We believe stronger links between innovators at Europe’s edges and its hubs make European growth more inclusive and more resilient. Everything we generate goes back into that mission.
Founders
Co-founder, European programmes
Alessio has written and managed EU-funded projects since 2015, and built a grant-writing team that secured over €20M in EIC Accelerator funding for deep tech founders. He has developed programmes for the European Commission, the UNDP and EIT KICs. As an expert evaluator for European deep tech schemes, he knows what winning proposals look like from both sides.
Co-founder, Story & Strategy
Ryan makes complex technology understandable, and has secured and overseen around €23M in public funding for innovation initiatives. Across a career spanning product, operations and delivery, he has shaped funding proposals, told company stories and turned deep technical work into something an evaluator, customer or partner grasps immediately.
Co-founder, Markets
Dayana has spent over a decade opening markets and guiding companies through internationalisation. As Export Manager for the Canary Islands trade office in Malabo, she helped Spanish companies expand across Central Africa. She now develops new business in international automotive markets at Domingo Alonso Group, bringing the commercial perspective that turns good projects into market opportunities.
